Consultation Document

The National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission is in receipt of a submission from ECTEL containing ECTEL’s recommendations on Draft Electronic Communications (Net Neutrality) Regulations in the ECTEL Member States

Recognizing the importance of the Net Neutrality Regulations in this ever changing telecommunications environment, ECTEL encourages all stakeholders to provide their reply comments on the consultation document.

1. Draft copies of the following are attached:

i. Draft Electronic Communications (Net Neutrality) Regulations;

ii. Explanatory Memorandum.

2. The initial comments period will run from 31st July, 2019 to 21st August, 2019.

3. Noting the interest expressed, and considering requests received thus far during this consultation, ECTEL has decided that the deadline for submission of reply comments be extended to Friday 6th September, 2019 to allow interested parties more time to submit their responses to the comments on the consultation document

4. The period for reply comments will now run from Thursday 22nd August, 2019 to Friday 6th September, 2019.

5. Following the receipt of comments on Comments, ECTEL will convene a meeting of stakeholders to discuss and finalise the Draft Electronic Communications (Net Neutrality) Regulations. The ECTEL’s Directorate will revise and submit the final Draft Electronic Communications (Net Neutrality) Regulations to the Board of Directors for approval, and to the Council of Ministers for its approval and recommendation for adoption in the ECTEL Member States.
